About Anar
Find local businesses.
Anar helps people discover trusted Muslim-owned businesses and helps those businesses be found by their neighbors.
How verification works
A real check before a listing goes live.
Business owners submit their details, and we review them with a quick welcome call before publishing the listing.
After a listing is live, owners can request updates. Material changes are reviewed before they appear publicly.
Why Anar?
One fruit, one ummah.
Anar means pomegranate in Uyghur, Farsi, Dari, Urdu, and Hindi. It's a fruit mentioned in the Quran: each seed is a local business, and together they make one fruit, one ummah.
Each seed represents a local business: distinct, useful, and rooted in its own community. Together, those businesses make one fruit—stronger and more nourishing than any seed alone.
That is the spirit of Anar: helping neighbors find one another, supporting the people who serve our communities, and growing something useful together.
Who runs Anar?
Anar was founded by Kaderjan Ilghar and is operated by UpFounders Inc., a San Ramon-based company.
